So you'll probably notice throughout the semester that I do an extreme amount of sketching, some related to classwork and some mostly unrelated. It's really the only way I stay sane, sometimes working on the computer for extended amounts of time burns me out, so I have to get away from the screen and draw for awhile. I'm really attempting to get better at illustration, digitally speaking, and develop some more styles of illustration, so recently I've tried to step away from my usual tendency to draw highly detailed compositions and focus more on simple, black-outlined drawings which I then scan in and add color/texture in photoshop. Anyway, here are some recent sketches and drawings which I've done from around the end of last semester up until today.
One of my ink drawings I've done recently. Micron Pen, Sharpy & color/texture in Photoshop. Underneath are screenshots of the steps.
A sketch idea for my friend who got a tattoo recently. He wanted to commemorate his two sons, of which one is Taurus and the other Aquarius.
A drawing I did last night at Apache Cafe's Art Monday. I was observing a female model through about seven or eight poses and I simply used cubes/rectangular prisms and the occasional cylinder to mirror the angles of her body parts, eventually creating an abstract mass that you see here...
